The short version

Layer does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no third-party SDKs, and no servers.

Camera

Layer uses your camera for exactly one thing: showing you a live preview, in the app and in the floating Picture in Picture window. The video feed is processed entirely on your device and is never recorded, saved, or sent anywhere by Layer.

If you record your screen while using Layer, that recording is made by iOS and saved to your Photos library under your control — Layer has no access to it.

Data storage

Your preferences (window shape, filter, text overlay, zoom, mirroring) are stored locally on your device so the app looks the same on every launch. They never leave your device.

Third parties

Layer contains no third-party code that collects data. The app makes no network requests.

Changes

If a future version of Layer ever changes any of the above, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be called out in the App Store release notes.
